The wallpaper in this place, once his grandmother’s kitchen, serves as the backdrop, a reminder of her presence. Now, he lives in her home, once shared with his lover, but now alone, trapped in memories of her in this place.
A plant struggles to grow, its roots reaching out in search of soil, mirroring a passion once shared. The two goldfish, symbols of the lovers, swim apart, their backs turned toward one another. They represent departure, but also hope. The goldfish embody perseverance, and finding a way to survive on their own, emerging stronger from heartache.
